Housing guidance for Georgia Institute of Technology.
Submit a Housing Facilities request; urgent problems should use the emergency/after-hours contact path.

What happens if something breaks in the room?
Georgia Tech Housing has an online Facilities request process for room, appliance, plumbing, electrical and other building issues. Housing states requests are reviewed promptly and routes emergencies separately, so students should report problems rather than attempt unauthorized repairs.
Before you choose a property
| Housing path | Costs to gather | Questions to resolve |
|---|---|---|
| Campus housing | For a common 2026–27 first-year traditional room plus a required first-year meal plan, a representative total is about $14,230 for fall and spring; actual cost varies by room. | Confirm eligibility, contract dates, included services and cancellation terms. |
| Off-campus rental | Rent for the full lease, deposits, utilities, parking and moving costs. | Check lease length, guarantor terms, roommates, pets and the actual campus trip. |
| Parent-owned home | Down payment, closing costs, financing, taxes, insurance, HOA, maintenance and sale costs. | Confirm occupancy, title, roommate rules, financing eligibility and the plan after graduation. |
- Confirm the exact campus or work destination.
- Compare the full housing timeline and total cost.
- Read the applicable lease or property documents.
- Bring the property, budget and questions to your professional.
