Here’s where to start

A Georgia Tech Living Learning Community is a residential program where students live with peers around a shared academic or experiential interest.

What is a Living Learning Community at Georgia Tech?

For 2026–27, Georgia Tech lists first-year communities such as Design Bloc, Explore, Global Leadership and Grand Challenges. LLCs combine residential community with programming and academic/experiential opportunities; applying to an LLC is separate from the housing application, and accepting an LLC invitation requires completing housing steps.

What is the difference between an RA and the professional residence-hall staff?

Georgia Tech staffs residence halls with Resident Assistants and professional Hall Directors/area staff. RAs are the usual first contact for routine community issues and peer support, while professional staff manage operations, escalation, conduct and more complex residential concerns.

Who should my student contact first when something goes wrong in the dorm?

Georgia Tech provides 24/7 Residence Life support through RAs and professional staff and a separate Facilities request channel for repairs. The correct first contact depends on the problem: RA/on-call staff for residential concerns, Facilities for maintenance, and GTPD/911 for emergencies.
